Preseason Suicide

It’s been 183 days since Super bowl 50. That's 183 days they had to prepare the field for the first preseason game of 2016. Canceled. Just another NFL FAIL. Now we sit and wait another 4 days to finally get our NFL fix. Which is fine I guess. It's just preseason, right? I know a few die hards that would disagree. 183 days without football just flat out... Sucks. But oh well says the NFL. On to Thursday.

Speaking of Thursday, My Philadelphia Eagles will host Jamis Winston and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Eagles Wide Receiver Jordan Matthews will not be on the field for this game. I do however look forward to seeing our 1st round draft pick Carson Wentz. The word is he will see a lot of playing time during this game. Kickoff is at 7 ET, 6 CT.

According to the Redskin faithful Josh Norman looks to be bringing a "Nasty attitude" to the secondary. Now look, I know I'm a little bias because I'm an Eagles fan. But let’s be serious. Josh Norman was a product of the system in Carolina. And Carolina knew that when they let him walk rather than giving him ridiculous money that he demanded. I could be wrong and he turn out to be a shutdown corner. But I learned my lesson with these corners going back to Nnamdi Asomugha in 2011. I'd love to hear your opinions about this topic. As of this writing Joey Bosa (Ohio St/Drafted 3rd overall by the San Diego Chargers) still has yet to sign is rookie contract. His mother’s comment on Facebook was on point. "I wish we would've pulled an Eli at the draft." Wow! Now those of you that know me know I bashed Eli at the draft for being a cry baby. Being drafted into the NFL is a dream most of us never get to experience. First overall at that. But the Chargers front office is truly a mess and honestly I don’t blame Manning. And now I can say I stand with Bosa here. He just wants the same signing bonus as the other rookies drafted before and after him. And it’s not even the number. It’s how he gets it. The other have it written that they receive the guaranteed money all at once. The Chargers won’t budge. This could get worse before it gets better. I'll be watching this one closely.

MOVIE REVIEW!!!

Saturday morning, I got up early and drove to the movie theater. Got my ticket for Suicide Squad with a huge smile on my face. I thought it was a great movie. The plot was the only negative. But honestly the movie did what it needed to do. It introduced a dozen or so DC characters to film that most of us non comic book readers never knew. The soundtrack was amazing. I wanted more Joker. But I know it’s coming. Plenty of DC movies are headed our way. We already know about Justice League and Wonder Woman. Now I hear they’re already working on a Suicide Squad 2 and a new Batman movie.
