With the fantasy football draft weekends here I wanted to give my top 5 in each of the primary positions. Today I'll give you my top 5 RB's and shed some light on my numbers. I'll be back tomorrow with my WR's. I'll also give my thoughts on taking a WR over a RB and the do's and dont's of the first round. I'll be here through the weekend so stay tuned! With all of that said, lets get it!
Running Backs
1. Todd Gurley LA Rams

It feels good to say LA Rams again doesn't it? I know my buddy Marc Wammer Wamsley didn't want his boys leaving St. Louis but I think we all knew it was coming for some time. Now, back to Gurley. Gurley ran for 1,106 yards last year off 229 totes. He averaged 4.8 yards a carry and had 10 touchdowns. Oh, and lets not forget this guy started the 2015 season recovering from an injury. Now they've moved to the bright lights of LA. They drafted Jared Goff #1 this past April in the 2016 NFL draft. I was already high on Gurley but knowing they are starting a rookie QB, especially in this division, they are going to lean heavily on Gurley until Goff gets comfortable. Gurley should be the top RB taken in ALL fantasy drafts. And yes, you take RB's first. Not WR's.
2. Adrian Peterson Minnesota Vikings
Oh yes. The old man is still doing his thing. Now I wont be here long because throwing stats out about Peterson just doesn't explain what he does. It isn't enough. He IS the Minnesota Vikings. And all of these years the opposing teams STILL stack the box and wonder how he does it. Bottom line... If Gurley is gone and Peterson is there at my pick, I'm smiling all the way to the board. Until this man falls, and I see it with my own eyes, he's at the TOP of my draft boards.
3. David Johnson Arizona Cardinals

David Johnson is going into his second season having sat early on in his rookie campaign. In his first NFL action September 13, 2015 he had one catch for a 55 touchdown against the New Orleans Saints. That play allowed him more carries and he only got stronger as the season progressed. Johnson finished the 2015 season with 1,038 total yards from scrimmage. Those numbers are almost split down the middle running/receiving. He is an excellent pass catcher out of the back field. Chris Johnson will be back but this train belongs to the other Johnson. David Johnson will put up solid fantasy numbers this season. He's young, he can catch, and boy is he fast. He was fun to watch last year. I hope to draft him again this year.
4. Lamar Miller Houston Texans
Lamar Miller was picked up through free agency from Miami to Houston during this past off season. Miller had been more than serviceable in Miami. In my opinion, Miller was not used correctly for a multitude of reason. Mainly Ryan Tannehill. In Houston it is yet to be seen if Brock Osweiler will be any different. I happen to believe this is an offense better suited for Miller. I think he will thrive in Houston and put up great fantasy numbers. He seems to be climbing in mocks. Folks are starting to feel the hype. Can he produce? I think so.
5. Ezekiel Elliott Dallas Cowboys

Yes. It pains me to put a Cowboy in my top 5 and I'm sure Peanut will sure to let me have it. Elliott is going where he can thrive as a rookie. He's got the best rushing O'line in the league. He's got depth behind him in Morris and McFadden. He's in a very ideal situation and you cant help but love this if you draft him or happen to be a Dallas fan. Tony Romo also plays a factor here because he's getting older and the window is closing. I don't give the Cowboys credit for much but having a great o'line, Dez "I caught it" Bryant, and now a young stud at RB, I have to say, it looks good. At least on paper. I mean... Romo still has to win in December, and an actual playoff game or three. So we'll see.
And there you have it. My top 5 RB's and my reasons. I'll be back here tomorrow for my top 5 WR's. Thank you guys for checking in. Be sure you LIKE & SHARE on Facebook, and write us on twitter, let me know your thoughts and tell me your top 5 RB's! God bless and have an outstanding day!
