Ladies and gentlemen it brings me great joy to write this blog tonight. The Philadelphia Eagles have traded G/T Dennis Kelly for WR Dorail Green-Beckham. Now there's quite a few reasons I'm overjoyed with this trade. One being I've been watching Green-Beckham since he was in high school being heavily recruited by Alabama. Two, and I'm being kind here, but we usually get the short in of the stick when it comes to trades. Not this time Nancy. We totally just stole Green-Beckham from Tennessee. Kelly was not going to start games and that says a lot because our offensive line is not that good outside of Jason Kelse, Jason Peters, and Lane Johnson. Our Guards are BAD. Thank you Chip Kelly... So getting Green-Beckham for such a bargain is kind of a shock to me. He didn't play a whole lot last year but when he did he was very productive. I'm not sure what Tennessee was thinking. Maybe they know something we don't. I know at UM he had a few run ins with the law. He would eventually be dismissed from the team and transfer to Oklahoma where he never saw the field sitting out on a declined waiver though the NCAA.

So he has a history of trouble and there may have been a concern for Tennessee. But at the end of the day you put a good supporting cast around this young talented man and he will be successful. We just signed Brian Dawkins to our staff for I believe reasons like that. I've been wanting this guy to get involved with the team since he left for Denver. But this is why Dawkins is here. He will be a mentor or a father figure for these young guys. Green-Beckham never knew is biological father. He was in foster homes until his high school football coach (and wife) adopted him and his brother in 2009. He and his little brother Darnell had been living with them since 2006. Having that father figure around is a big deal. I think Green-Beckham and Carson Wentz are the future of the Philadelphia Eagles. They are both young and if things go according to plan they could be playing with each other a very long time and get us back to the top of our division, conference, and even the league. I'm not putting Green-Beckham in the Pro-Bowl just yet. I'm just thrilled he's on my team. After all he did chose UM over UA as a senior in high school. I felt the same way about another WR we signed this offseason in Rueben Randle. He was another WR Alabama was going after hard in recruiting. He chose LSU. Then was drafted by the New York Giants in the 2nd round of the 2012 NFL Draft. Two teams I despise...But now they are Eagles.

So technically we have three 2nd round WR's (Jordan Matthews, Rueben Randle, Dorail Green-Beckham) and a 1st rounder in Nelson Agholor. Both Agholor and Randle looked terrible last week against Tampa Bay. These guys were brought in and paid pretty good money. They were all at one point in their careers at the top of peoples list at their respected position. I look forward to seeing what we look like against the Steelers tomorrow night. Green-Beckham will not be playing but he will be at the game with the team. Our WR need to step up. But I know once he gets on the field Green-Beckham is going to be a huge RED ZONE target.

Thank you all for joining me on this hump day. I'll be back tomorrow with more. Please "like" and "share". And SUBSCRIBE to our mailing list! We'll keep you locked in on whats going on here at The Red Zone Faction. In the meantime, write me on Facebook/Twitter and tell me how much you want to see the Cowboys lose. I love to see Cowboy fans sad, don't you? It truly makes me a happier person. Especially when its Dustin "Peanut" McBride. God Bless you all and have an outstanding day!
