Week 9: State of the Faction

Before I even get started on week 9, was week 8 not the wildest week we've seen in years in this league? This has been on crazy season. Week 9 overall looks a little lopsided. But that is why we play the games and not hand out trophies after the draft. Lets get to the games...

Week 8 the undefeated Killers went in with a few injury issues but still had a decent enough squad to put Dez away. Especially with Dez having a lot of bye week trouble. Little did they know Dez came to win. Not only were the Eagles playing in Dallas this week (Scott - Eagles/Dustin Cowboys), but this Killers vs Dez game came down to that NFL match up. A total of 6 starters in this game were playing in that Sunday night match up. It came down to the last play giving the Killers a win 106 - 105.8. Wow! The Eagles lost the NFL game but the Killers remain undefeated moving to an 8-0 record. Dez will not hold his head down and move on to another Faction powerhouse in VATKA in week 9. Dez gets his bye week guys back while it looks as if VATKA has bye issues. And for that reason I'm taking Dez to knock off VATKA in week 9.

VATKA took on the last place Knights this week in what turned out to be the biggest upset of the week. The Knights scored a season high 133.5 points and put it to VATKA this week moving to 2-6. VATKA moves to 5-3 and seems to be struggling at this point. Maybe they can pull things together before the playoffs. The Knights move on to Team Pham in week 9. Pham is another team that seems to be struggling. Can the Knights manage to pull a two game winning streak? I have to take Pham in this match up but at this point...who knows?

Pham had the Stars in week 8. I watched this game closely this weekend as I predict these two teams will be fighting for a playoff spot in a few weeks. Stars got the dub and it wasn't really close at 128.8-111.3. The Stars move into 4th place at 4-4 while Team Pham moves down to 7th at 3-5. The Stars take on a struggling Team Kennamer in week 9 and should get the win. Both have a few bye week issues so I'll look to see how they manage things on the waiver wire this week. But as far as my pick, I'm taking the Stars.

Team Kennamer saw the Backs and as predicted the Backs got it done. No doubt the Backs are for real and are contenders this year. (Stab me now)... And it seems the Backs could get another win in week 9 as they face Team Dirty. Undoubtedly the two biggest trash talkers in the league (in person) will face off this week. Love it. Dirty got a win in week 8 and will look to build off that as they've struggled this year. Can they get a dub against a Backs team that seems to be on a roll? As much as it kills me (again) I have to take the Backs here. (DOUG! WIN!...PLEASE!) Backs will get another win in week 9.

In week 8 we saw Team Dirty in Birdsville against the Bellringers. This was another shocker as Dirty got the dub over the Ringers 114.3 - 103. I did not see this coming but props to Dirty for getting it done. Hopefully they build off this win and get another this week against the Backs. The Ringers on the other hand move on the undefeated Killers. The Killers have a few bye issues and if there was ever a week the owner of the Killers were a little worried it's this week. This could very well be the week the Killers fall. But don't get it twisted folks. I'm talking my Killers to work the waivers and get the win to move to 9-0.

Week 8 was outstanding in terms of upsets and teams making a push for the playoffs. Week 9 should be just as exciting. See you guys on the other side. Have a blessed week.
