Week 10 is here and that only means a few things. The trade deadline is coming, and so is the turkey. I've noticed something the last few weeks within the Faction. No one is ready to tank it up and call it a year. Even the guys at the bottom that have had a year to forget thus far have managed to pull out a few wins lately. I know Tyrone would need a prayer to get in but looking at the standings I feel like EVERYONE is still in this thing. Hell, out of the 10 teams in The Faction seven of them are either 5-4 or 4-5. That leaves the door wide open. This is going to be a fight and no one is safe. Well, excluding myself but that's another blog entirely. Watching this thing play out is going to be fun. This is been a very interesting year for The Faction. Now lets get to the games...
The undefeated Killers traveled to Birdsville this past week to visit the Bellringers. The Killers were down it's best two players and came in limping. Going in I really thought this would finally be the week the mighty Killers would fall. The game would start out slow with Killers having later games and The Ringers having 3 guys Monday night. By Sunday afternoon the Killers would put on a show and with the insurance of McCoy on Monday night the Killers would indeed remain undefeated. As for the Ringers they fall to 4-5 and take on the last place Knights next week. They should be able to get back on track but the Knights have managed to get a few wins lately and are by no means a walk in the park. I'll be watching this one. I'm taking the Ringers to win but don't be shocked if the Knights get an upset. Ringers are struggling but I know they'll be in the mix at the end. They always are.
The Knights saw Team Pham in week 9 in what was closer than Pham probably imagined going in. Pham would get the dub 124.3 - 120.5. I thought the Knights had the game one but Pham was able to pull it off. The Knights fall to 2-7 while Team Pham gets to 4-5. Pham will need to bring the house with them next week as they travel to see the second place Backs. Coming off a loss I know the Backs are hungry and looking to get a high seed in the playoffs. Both of these teams need this win in week 10. Team Pham got the dub in the first meeting between these two which is why I'm taking the Backs here. It's a revenge game as well as a do or die. If the Backs want a high seed they cant afford to lose anymore games. VATKA are on their heals. Backs should get the win.
The Backs saw Team Dirty last week in what I always call the Trash talk bowl. These two guys talk more trash at the draft than any other two people I know. These two teams have really been on opposite side of the scale this year as far as production but the records do not show it. The Backs came into this game in second place holding a 5-3 record while Team Dirty came in at 3-5. Well, Team Dirty got the win and now these guys are one game apart at 5-4 and 4-5. That's the kind of year we're having in the Faction this year. That NEVER SAY DIE attitude is contagious within this group and I love it!!! Dirty will see his best buddy Dez in week 10. Here's another 4-5 vs 5-4 match up. Dez has been on an unbelievable roll lately and I cant see that stopping this week. I think he gets the dub and moves to 6-4. I've been playing fantasy football with this guy for over a decade. I've never seen him have this kind of season. I cant help but pull for the guy. At least until he plays me. HAHAHA. I'm proud of Dustin. He does not read these blogs so he wont even know I was giving him props. Oh well.
Dez saw VATKA in week 9 and on paper this looked like an open shut case for VATKA walking out with a win. NOPE. I'm not underestimating Dez any longer this year. Between him finishing #3 in highest score for the week and VATKA barely cracking triple digits, Dez destroyed VATKA. 149.8 - 108.3. These two have played in leagues together in years past. This is a first I assure you. VATKA will see Team Kennamer in week 10. Maybe VATKA can get back on track. Kennamer has put a few wins together lately and like thos Knights, Team Kennamer will be no walk in the park for VATKA. This will be another one I'm keeping an eye on. I'm taking VATKA here but at this point with these two teams I have no idea. VATKA had a few byes last week but on paper he still should have won. Kennamer could pull it off and would not be shocked in the least if he does. But I'm leaning on VATKA for now.
Team Kennamer saw the Stars last week. The Stars are a team I just cant put my finger on. I think they're a contender but they just cant seem to play like it. Probably the strangest team of the bunch. Kennamer got the win over the Stars 123.3 - 113.8. Kennamer is playing with that NEVER SAY DIE attitude. The Stars are sitting at 4-5 and need a string of wins to get a seat in the dance come December. Week 10 they see the Killers. So that journey doesn't look so good currently. Anything is possible but the mighty Killers are still undefeated and oh yeah... They get Brady and Johnson back from their bye week. Killers in a landslide and they will move on to 10-0.
Thank you guys for stopping in and giving me your time today. Good luck to all this week except the guys playing me! Y'all have a blessed day and I hope you voted!
