Week 13 State of the Faction

Well, well, well... Week 12 turned out to be quite entertaining. The top five spots have been dramatically shifted and things are definitely shaping up for the playoffs. Lets get to the games...

The first game brought us the Killers vs Team Dirty. Not much to talk about here. The Killers never saw much threat. They handled their business and move on to a 12-0 record and are one game away from finishing a perfect season. Big head? Why not? Who wouldn't brag about a perfect season? In all of my years of playing Fantasy football I do not recall ever seeing this done. So I'll take it. One more game still left to play. Team Dirty moves to 4-8 and Team Pham comes to town in week 13. I like Pham here because Pham is looking to clinch a spot and I think Dirty is MIA once again. Dirty has no byes or injuries so he could get a win but I'm sticking with the one I see. Pham gets the dub.

Team Pham had VATKA in week 12 and this is one I had my eye on. I knew this one would be close and boy was it ever. Pham would squeak out the win with his kicker on Monday night moving him to a 6-6 record and putting him in the 6 spot which happens to be the past playoff spot. A win against Dirty would clinch that spot for sure. VATKA moves to 7-5 and currently holds the 2 seed. The Backs come to town this week and this will be THE GAME OF THE WEEK! The Backs can NOT afford to lose this game and VATKA is now playing for a 1st round bye. With the Ringers sitting behind VATKA and being on a hot streak VATKA needs this win. It is however highly unlikely the Backs miss the playoffs as it would take an act of God. I think the playoff bracket is all but set. Maybe a slight adjustment with seeding this coming week but we are all but ready and know who is in. But I'll still be watching because I know VATKA wants that bye! VATKA wins.

The Backs saw Dez last week in what was another close game. Dez had the lead most of the weekend but the Backs had late players and had a chance to win. They came up a little short and fall to 6-6 and sit in the 5 spot. As I said earlier, I think the Backs finish with the 5 or at worst 6 seed and still get in. I know Jeremiah would feel better with a win this week though. Dez moves to 7-5 and now sits at the 4 seed. Dez will see the struggling Stars in week 13. I had hope for the Stars though out the season but after the last few weeks it has started to fade. It would take a massive miracle from the fantasy Gods for the Stars to get in at this point but hey, I've seen stranger things in my time. I'm taking Dez in this one though. I think it's lights out for the Stars.

Week 12 we saw the Ringers put on a show against the Stars. The Ringers are on a hot streak and boy is it at the right time. You do NOT want to play the Ringers right now. The Ringers remind me of those Eli Manning Giant teams that got hot right before the playoffs, made a run, and won a championship. The Stars fall to 5-7 and look to be on the outside looking in as they sit in the 7 spot and just do not have the wins nor the points scored to get in. The Ringers move on to a 7-5 record and sit in the 3 seed looking for VATKA to take a loss to secure a 1st round bye. The Ringers take on 4-8 Team Kennamer in week 13 which should be a walk in the park. I look forward to seeing which one of these two take the bye with me next week. But as for this match up, Ringers get a dub.

Team Kennamer saw the last place Knights in week 12. Kennamer was the league's second highest scorer putting up 145 points. Team Kennamer was this years mystery team. I'll never understand what happened there. But none the less they get the dub against the 2-10 Knights and move to a 4-8 record and both of these will be watching the playoffs from afar this year. The Knights finish the season off against the undefeated mighty Killers. It's the league's only hope of ending the Killers perfect season. Can Tyrone get it done. No. Killers finish perfect and will be sitting at home next week on a 1st round bye. Winner; Killers.

There's my take on the Faction for week 13. This is the last week of the regular season but I'll be here as always each week going through the playoffs to give my two cents on whats going on. If anyone has any thoughts or ideas to make our league better in 2017 please give me a call, text, or talk to me in person at work. It's been a great year and for those of you not making the playoffs, do not hold your head down. Especially the new guys. In my eyes everyone played their tails off and everyone had a decent draft. I look forward to having you all back next year. Yall have a blessed day and I'll see you on the other side!
